I have a guild. What next?
I am new to Guild Wars/Factions. I have Finally created a guild and will soon have some members. (After showing the game off they bought their copies) Anyway now What is next for a guild. What are the benifits of having one?
Why do the Halls cost so much? This is the nicest game I have had in years. Thanks |

Now ill try to help instead of do a "Im soo leet because i have so much gold" post. After you have a guild hall you will be able to test build agains other members of your team, doing pvp games against other guild. Without a guild hall, the guild is still useful because its easyer to comunicate whit your friends, trying some team arenas or pve missions together. |

10 people 1.6k each. problem solved. well not really as recruiting is a pain but it sounds like you have some members. try and get a nice number of people or an amount you feel comfortable with. imo 20-30 people is a nice amount as chances are there will be a few people online throughout the day. having a reasonable number of people online at one time allows you to quest together or pvp. if you want to pvp as a guild you want 8 people online to do guild vs guild or if you have not got that many you can do 4 vs 4 in team arenas.
guilds allow you to help each other out and do pve and pvp. pvp with the guild is nice as there wont be jerks who are rude some of my best memories of guild wars are playing with my guild. you are able to have a laugh and playing together is fun. |

^^ what cartman said. But i would wait until you have had the game for a while before you make a guild unless you just want to talk to mates and stuff.

If you are new, I'd recommend to join another guild first and to learn not only just how to run a guild, but how the game is played itself. You'll have a much more positive experience as well as creating some connections, which you could then use later after you form your own guild to create an alliance with.
Plus it doesn't hurt that as the leader you won't be the greenest member or later have enough money to buy both a guild and guild hall to entice people to join and most importantly stay. Finding active, loyal members isn't exactly the easiest of tasks. Nothing like inviting a person to have them leave 5 seconds later without explanation. |

To answer the what next question?
Schedule guild events that you and guild mates can participate in. Something like help a guildie night every saturday night. Everyone who logs in either helps or gets help. If you want a fun thing to do hold a dance party in on of the bigger towns like Kaieng or Shing Jea. It helps with recruiting as well. The most important thing to to team build while you are having fun. That will hold a guild together longer than anything else. Good luck |

Hmmm, you say you are new to the game. I think you would be better off joining another guild before you start your own one.
Starting a guild is easy. Making the guild succesfull is very difficult. You need experience in GvG and Guild buisness before you can start your own guild. Also, having a few lvl 20 chars also helps alot. Standing in Ascalon City as a lvl<20 won't impress many people. Also you can provide free runs to new members as a sign of welcome. Having a hall is pretty much essential before you start recruiting people in community places as Ascalon City ot Lions Arch. It all costs so much because that way it will show that you are putting much effort into your guild (if Halls were only 1K, they wouldnt be cool anymore). The hall alone is relatively cheap. If you are truely hoping to get a guild of any significance, you need to fill the hall up with a merchant, rune trader, xunlai agent etc etc. A complete hall will cost you over a million gold, its basically useless getting traders into your hall but it shows off big time If you want to continue however with your guild, I have a few tips summed up: - Get a cool design for your cape, I myself like to design stuff and nice capes will make people proud to wear your colours. - Never try to lure people into your guild by promises of making them officer. Off course you will need a few officers when you start, but when you have 4 or 5 (the first 4 or 5 people to join your guild), only promote people when they show a lot of commitment to the guild, by helping new members, participating in GvG etc - Get Luxon faction. A lot of guilds only have 1500 faction or so, while it is so easy to get much much higher. Having less then 25.000 faction shows that a guild is either lazy or inactive. High faction will get you into good alliances with good-running guilds. - Get filthy rich. A guild leader with 4K in his/her stash is no good. You need cash to buy stuff for your guild hall, sending invites and providing occasional loans to other members. I hope this may help you a little bit further. Regards, Reinfire |

No it just annoys me when people do things they shouldn't even be doing yet. If you don't have 16k then you're barely into the game so a guild hall means nothing to you so you shouldn't be concerning yourself with it at all.
